Introduction The Penh House: Jungle Addition is a boutique villa nestled away in lush greenery, establishing itself as a peaceful oasis within the bustling city. Jungle Addition is small and intimate, with spacious and thoughtfully decorated rooms. Surrounded by lush gardens, shady trees and a rooftop providing panoramic views of the city.
Penh House is located on Street 244 and around 30 minutes from Phnom Penh Airport. The location is right in the heart of the city just moments away from the Royal Palace and riverside area. Also within close distance via local transport i.e Tuk Tuk, is Wat Phnom & The Central Market. The hotel best caters to tourists looking for an ideal location within close proximity to tourist attractions. After a busy day of sightseeing, the Penh House is the perfect place.
Rooms The boutique is comprised of 18 rooms, including 2 x Jungle Suites, 3 x Jungle Deluxe Doubles, and 13 x Jungle Superior Doubles. I spent two nights in the Jungle Suite and upon entering my room was embraced in a realm of natural light. The thoughtfully crafted color palette features a neutral scheme that provides a sense of bohemian luxury. You will notice this between the color association of the tiles, bed runners and pillowcases. Overall, the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, the design complements the hotel surroundings.
Food & Drink The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast from 7-10am. The restaurant itself is located right next to the pool and offers affordable, tasty dishes for lunch and dinner. Room service is also available upon request.
Facilities The Jungle Addition Pool is nestled among a lush garden and trees providing the ultimate sanctuary. The hotel also features the Jungle Addition Restaurant & Bar, featuring affordable yet tasty meals and snacks. Inside the room, you are provided with daily cleaning, free tea, 2x water bottles per day and a mini bar. Another added touch is the complimentary Mekong cruise the hotel offers.
Overall Impression My stay at the Penh House: Jungle Addition was an enjoyable experience. I enjoyed the lush greenery which provided the ambiance of a peaceful sanctuary. Within the rooms, there were thoughtful amenities provided such as free tea and water, daily cleaning and a small minibar. The rooms are spacious, well maintained and comfortably decorated by a neutral color palette. The breakfast provided by the hotel while tasty, there is little variety of meals. Overall, I think the Penh House while not a large hotel, is conveniently located and offers comfortable rooms at a mid-range price.
